5k Open and Competitive Heats
Scenic City OCR (Formerly Chattanooga Mud Run) promises to wind you through rugged terrain, water,
up walls and across obstacles to create a uniquely fun experience.
All finishers receive an awesome Finisher shirt, bib, and medal. This event is being held in conjunction with the USAOCR National Championship weekend & you will have the opportunity to try obstacles from other brands as well as our staple favorites.
This event is perfect for all fitness levels.
Courses will range from 3-4 miles depending on venue.
Children 10-13 may race on the adult course with an adult
14+ May race alone and compete

The venue address is 2209 Crow Valley rd NW Dalton GA. Parking will be in the feild at the intersection of Popular Springs and Crow Valley for participants and spectators.
Packet pick up:
Friday- 4-6PM Burr Performing Arts Park 101 S. Hamilton St Dalton, GA 30720
We will also have packet pick up on Saturday and Sunday from 6:30am- the last heat.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Your car will be towed. No parking is allowed inside the park without a PASS. See map at the bottom.

5k OPEN ONLY - If you are not scheduled to run with your group due to last name and you are in the open heat, you may start in another heat with your group; however if the start group is too large, we may ask that you start in a later heat. YOU DO NOT NEED TO EMAIL the director to do this.

8:15 15K Elite Women
8:30 15k Age group 50-59, 60+
8:45 15k Age Groups - 40-49
9:00 15k Age Groups 30-39, 20-29, Youth, 15-19
9:05 - PARA Open heats
Course cut off:
3k Course cut off is 90 minutes
5k Course cut off time is 2.5 Hours
15k Course will close at 2pm.
Bands:
3k & 5k - Each athlete will start with 3 bands. If you lose 1-2 bands you will need to earn those back with a penalty lap at the finish line in order to get a qualified time. If all three bands are lost, you will still get to finish the race but will not receive a finisher time or qualify for awards.
PARA will get 5 bands.
ALL OBSTACLES ARE SINGLE ATTEMPT AND MUST BE ATTEMPTED per USAOCR regulations
DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE OBSTACLE JUDGES - Find me (Julie Phy, Race Director) with any disputes. Speaking in an unkind or unprofessional manner to judges or volunteers will be an immediate disqualification. This is zero tolerance as without these people giving their time, this race would not be happening.
5k COMPETITIVE - 100% completion required to podium. Multiple attempts are allowed and only one band is given.
Youth will not be required to do the heavy carries
The start and finish lines will be the same for all 3 events.
3K & 15K athletes - Please visit usaocr.org for the official race rules.
No Headphones please as there are some single track running and this is hazardous.
We will discuss obstacle specifics at the race briefing.

15K runners - During Hurricane Helene, there was a good bit of damage to the park and made a lot of the trails inaccessible by motorized vehicles or ATVs. This has resulted in longer stretches (3-4 miles) of running with no water stations. PLEASE prepare to bring water with you on the course if you need water more often.
If you miss your start time as a competitor, you may start late but your time will not be adjusted.
Please body mark your numbers if possible. Arms and front thigh if wearing shorts.
We will have a food vendor on site as well as drinks at the finish line.
The park restrooms are closed & the portables are the only option. There will be a hand washing station. We will not have an official bag check but you may store your bags behind the pavilion & there will be an officer keeping an eye out.
Teams - You may bring a team tent if you wish but I will need to know before noon on Friday if you wish to have a team tent. These will either need to be delivered by 6pm Friday or carried from the parking lot.
We do not have a complete course map as some of our other race brands have not made it yet due to the hurricane. Please understand we ae working to make this an awesome event and will hopefully have maps printed for the festival area.
